Education and Training for HIV/AIDS Orphans

Currently the organization caters for the formal education (pays school fees) of 30 children and provides humanitarian assistance in terms of scholastic materials to orphans with the support from well wishers of the organization. We send these children to inexpensive day schools within their reach. FYO wishes to provide quality education to the most vulnerable children by sending them to the finest schools in Uganda in order to provide a brighter future for them. (Read more…)

 

Mothers, Women and Girls Empowerment Program

FYO's economic empowerment program targets women of very low economic status in both rural and urban areas. By targeting these women, we are ensuring the impact on the children they care for especially orphans. Many poor women are unable to respond to the needs of the children they care for because of lack of resources and knowledge. The program aims to alleviate poverty through sustained solutions that improve the economic and social well-being of the most underprivileged women and orphaned children. (Read more…)

Health Care

We work in partnership with Ministries, local and international non-governmental organizations, donors and local communities to improve the quality of health care especially in the rural areas. We encourage use of key health practices and services and address the causes of poor health. Building and Construction

FYO would like to purchase a 21-acre piece of land about 40 miles out of Kampala . The land will be used to establish a boarding primary school for orphans and it will also serve as home to some of the orphans who are completely without a home. Public Health Awareness

FYO mobilizes communities and partners with the ministry of health, institutions and non-governmental organizations to address public health issues such as nutrition, sanitation and hygiene through its sensitization programs, targeting the most vulnerable households. Nutrition

Nutrition is one of FYO's priority areas- Our aim is to fight malnutrition and hunger by encouraging food security and improving household nutrition to ensure that the most vulnerable children and women especially orphans and widows from poor families have access to sufficient nutritious foods they need for good health. Vocational Training

FYO provides free self-employment-oriented training skills in tailoring to orphans and vulnerable children out of school, child-mother-and women-headed households, as well as training in Hand craft, digging, poultry keeping, music dance and drama, goat keeping, bee keeping, carpentry, brick laying and metal works. Adult Literacy

FYO carries out adult literacy program for the illiterate rural women. Many women in rural areas are illiterate due to the discrimination against girls when it came to issues like education that existed in the previous decades. With this newly introduced program, together with our wide range of expected resources will allow us to quickly and efficiently provide emergency assistance to disaster survivors and relief workers.
