Structure of The Foundation for Young Orphans 

Over the past years, Foundation for Young Orphans is growing into a strong and firm organization with a network of over five partners and today we are active in Kampala District. It is the combination of autonomous, local responsibility, global action and a simple, ageless concept, which has been crucial to the reliability and successful work of Foundation for Young Orphans.

The General Assembly, which is convened every other year, is the supreme decision-making body. Each member association has the right to participate at the General Assembly of Foundation for Young Orphans.

Work of AGM

•  To elect the board of directors

•  To elect the executive

•  This shall be the disciplinary body over members of the executive committee or board of directors and all members of the NGO.

•  AGM shall hear the chairperson's report of the year.

•  AGM shall access the progress of the NGO

•  AGM shall receive the annual financial report from the financial controller and approve it.

•  AGM shall hear the proposals of amendments.

The Executive committee consists of a maximum of 9 members plus the Director and the Deputy Director. Some of the main tasks of the Executive committee are:

  • Discussing fundamental questions relating to the policy of the organization
  • Submitting proposals to the General Assembly setting out aims and priorities of the association's future activities
  • Approval of annual budget and of the closing balance sheet of FYO
  • Election and appointment of members of other committees and boards (Executive Committee, Secretary General, honorary members, etc.)
  • Acceptance and exclusion of member associations

Funding

The Membership of FYO is entirely voluntary with funding coming from individual membership subscriptions, general appeals and donations from the;

  • Government
  • Foundations
  • Corporations and
  • Individuals
  • Institutions
  • Churches, etc
