Education is a privilege and not a basic right in many parts of the world. where school facilities are non-existent or inadequate. FYO is working with already existing institutions to provide practical skills to youths. Vocational Training Centers are an important building block in the work done with youths running parallel to the facilities where the youths live and in continuation of the training schooling they have received. Designed to respond in great variety of situations, the Social Centers help in a number of ways: from communicating vital knowledge and teaching skills, to counseling, supervision and even specific therapies. For all these services priority is given to local people who are struggling to cope with life.
The goals of the FYO Social Centers operating vary considerably, depending on local needs and the availability of infrastructure in the area. The aim is to help families, in particular women and children, living in communities neighboring the FYO to gradually escape from poverty, and to help young people to become self-reliant. The aim is to provide basic and emergency care, education in the fields of hygiene, nutrition and the prevention of disease, vaccination programs and childbirth services.
